Sample Schedule

A teacher led course day will be followed by a lab session where students will work on hands-on programming assignments that are based on what was learnt on the previous day.

Week 1

Jul 8 - Jul 12

Students will gain insights into data science and its various real-world applications. Students will be introduced to fundamental Python programming, including data types, conditional statements, branching, and Python data structures such as Lists and Tuples. Students will practice and apply what they learned through hands-on-lab sessions.

Week 2

Jul 15 - Jul 19

Students will explore fundamental statistical concepts such as mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation, normal distribution, and correlation coefficients. Students will delve into the Python Pandas library for data manipulation and cleaning, mastering skills in handling csv. files, data modification, sorting, querying, and basic inferential statistics. Students will practice cleaning and data manipulation using Jupyter Notebooks in the hands-on-lab.

Week 3

Jul 22 - Jul 26

Students will learn data visualization using the Seaborn library, focusing on essential techniques for creating graphs, charts, and plots. Emphasis will be placed on best practices for visualization of data, facilitating a deeper understanding of the data patterns.

Week 4

Jul 29 - Aug 2

In the last week, students will embark on a capstone project, applying their learned skills to a given dataset for data manipulation and visualization. The students will present their analytical findings on the culmination day.
